Game Developers Go Inside 'America's Army'
Posted by anastasia on 02-17-2005The New York Times (reg. required) accompanies the game developers responsible for one of the Army's best recruiting tools as they visit a remote Army base sometimes used to train special forces. It's ironic that video game advocates always play down the link between games and reality — i.e. you're not going to play Grand Theft Auto and go murder a prostitute. But with the Army's popular game (4.7 million registered users), it's designed to simulate real life situations you would potentially encounter in the Army — especially since we are "a nation at war." By the way, it's rated T for teen, meaning it's appropriate for 13-year-olds.
