Ypulse Essentials

WeeMeeWee! (It's Mee -- or at least my WeeWorld avatar. Teens can now personalize their AIM identities with these critters) (press release)

- Are Lifetime movies the new after school specials? (This press release about their upcoming movie on college binge drinking leads me to think...yes)

- 'Jesus Camp' controversy (the new doc is stirring up debate amongst Christians) (L.A. Times, reg. required)

- Speaking of Christians (who knew Billy Baldwin - brother of Alec - was a born again and that he created a new series of Christian graphic novels?) (The Baxter Bulletin)

- The coolest mall ever (The Lab...is in The O.C. - Mary, who I blogged about earlier, told me her brother owns this mall! I am going to try and visit soon and take some pics)

- Some muggles hate 'Harry' (J.K. Rowling's series is one of the most challenged books in libraries...Judy Blume's Forever is number 10. Support Banned Books Week!)

- Shoot things while you workout (a Silicon Valley gym that offers video games while you sweat) (Engadget)

- The Slumber Party Girls (The New York Times, reg. required, on the perfectly packaged TV pop group for tweens)

- States step up college websites (offering one-stop websites for would-be college students) (USA Today)

- KimaniTRU (a new YA imprint for African American teens) (press release)

P.S. Ypulse reader Paul, who is based in Singapore, sent me this very cool report on Asian youth I have yet to digest. He also shared this stat: 53% of India’s population is under 25 and it has a population of 1.1billion. Wow.
