Emo 101 (if you're still unclear as to what exactly Emo is, Harper Collins now has a guide. There is also an excerpt/Flipbook on Flip.com) (via Pop Candy)
- Plus size prom dresses (big girls want to look good, too) (Kansas.com)
- Very cool blog promoting a forthcoming YA novel (all you YA authors out there, take note: Ypulse reader Mitali Perkins just launched a fictional character blog to promote her book First Daughter: White House Rules. The character is "Sameera, who can't vote but still wants to make a difference. She's also Pakistani-American, adopted, and provides a non-partisan insider's view of campaigning." This is why I want to write YA -- it seems like so much FUN)
- The next new niche (AdWeek on niche social networks...speaking of niche, Mashable discovers this teen social network using SAT test prep as its differentiator)
- Move over 'Wayne's World' (meet these two teen podcasters "Acorns & Merlot") (Pittsburgh Post Gazette)
- 'How I Met Your Mother' (on MySpace. Sounds like that could be another show -- the popular CBS sitcom created a fictional MySpace profile that generated buzz and increased TV viewership. Plus the New York Times Magazine, reg. required, goes inside tween TV with former child star/current Nick tween hit maker Dan Schneider)
- 'Models NYC' (on MSNBC? Seems like a weird show for a news network, but the Huffington Post says it's so)
P.S. Check out my TV appearance on ABC's View From The Bay promoting Totally Wired Friday. Tomorrow I will be on the Ronn Owen's radio show. I love that the day before the guest is an IRS employee, and the day after is a former PLO terrorist.

That's funny, I was about to send you a link to that Acorns & Merlot today. I found them on PodcastAlley.com and while the show is pretty terrible, I find it intriguing as I wonder if it would be similar to something I would have done at 16 or 17 if there were podcasts around then. I think there's a lot of interesting stuff about it, though, because there's very little anonymity behind this and they openly discuss classmates and ex-girlfriends with their full names and such. I get this feeling it could be the next Dateline special.
