New Youth Connections, a great teen-written publication based in New York City, is looking for a new name -- and they want your help. The organization, Youth Communication, was featured at the NYC Ypulse Mashup, which focused on the future of teen magazines. Whoever suggests the winning name will receive $150! From their email:
This month, New Youth Connections (New York City's oldest teen magazine) will celebrate its 200th issue by inviting readers to rename the magazine.
Why a new name? When New Youth Connections was first published in 1980, it was written by and for New York City teens to address the issues affecting young people in the city. (New Youth Connections = NYC). Back then, almost all of our readers lived in New York City.
Over the years, New Youth Connections has grown to reach readers all over the country and around the world, through our printed magazine and especially on the Web. We’d like a new name that appeals to readers no matter where they live.
Got an idea for a new name? Fill out the form and submit it by May 4th.
Remember, the new name should reflect that we are a magazine written by and for teens!
