Ypulse Essentials: The N Goes to College, Boys & Toys, Scholastic eBooks
Posted by anastasia on 06-12-2007
June 21: 'Go Skateboarding Day!' (loads of events planned around the country - thanks Gregg!)
- The N goes to college (new drama "Best Years" premieres Friday) (press release)
- Kitson Boutique and Jay Z’s Rocawear (now "sold" inside of Doppelganger's virtual world) (press release)
- Start Mobile (a new widget with lots of "independent" mobile content - thanks John!)
- Battle for the boys (and who will be able to sell them the most toys this summer — Spiderman? Transformers?) (L.A. Times, reg. required)
- LOL for a good cause (Microsoft Windows Live Messenger just launched an initiative where "young people can select one of 10 cause organizations to receive donations every time they have an IM conversation" - that's one smart way to get people using your IM service. YouthNoise is also promoting this effort on their site. - thanks Jen!)
- Scholastic & Disney bet on eBooks (they haven't been successful in the youth market yet…) (USA Today)
- omg (Yahoo!'s new celeb site is live…and very pink and orange)
- Parental fear (is on the rise — what happens when kids no longer have any "free time" to play by themselves? Really interesting article. I want to digest and blog for Totally Wired)
- L.A. Youth (on YouTube. Post a comment there and let them know what you think of their new promo - thanks Melissa!)
P.S. Yesterday I linked to Reel Pop's post about Drop magazine putting its hip hop videos on YouTube (the link got botched in the newsletter) - today I will link to 88Hiphop putting its videos on Joost.
P.P.S. I will be on CN8: The Comcast Network's "It's Your Call With Lynn Doyle" Thursday at 9 p.m. EST. Tune in if you have Comcast.
