Jane/Brandon is done (and so is Cocktail before it even launched. Not a good day for print mags. Related: Ch-ch-changes at Seventeen) (New York Times, reg. required) (AdAge.com, reg. required) (Jossip)
- Trendspotter Demetri (is shilling for Microsoft)
- Where's the beef? (interesting Slate piece on how YouTube is hurting hip hop)
- Young people get a bad rap (in the press, according to this UK study) (Press Gazette)
- Yahoo! Mosh (screenshots) (TechCrunch)
- MTV letting users mash up videos (MUSIC videos)
- 'Greek' mythology (the Tri Delts say AGC Family's new series is inaccurate) (L.A. Times, reg. required)
- Zuda Comics (DC Comics opens up its process to YOU) (via Paid Content)
- Car companies creating branded communities (if there was any product I think these would work for it's cars…and Vespas or any product that has real enthusiasts) (AdAge.com, reg. required)
P.S. Listen to a lengthy 'Totally Wired' interview I recorded recently here.

Does the http://clearification.com/ website of Demetri have to do with Microsoft?
I just visited it for a few minutes, and didn't see a mention of Microsoft.

Yep. He is. See that Microsoft Vista logo once the site loads? Also, you can read about it here.

So did we see Jane's demise as surprising? Like her or not, Jane Pratt has managed to start two highly successful books and once she's left, they've been doomed.
