New Kids On The Block

Just got an email from Renegade with a list of the "Top 10 Up & Coming Teen Sites." It was nice to see some Mashup speakers listed like eSpinthebottle, Whateverlife and Photobucket. The list seems to be a mix of some real metrics and trendspotting -- they didn't say how they chose these sites in the release just that these are "10 up-and-coming websites that reflect the teenage mindset and interests." For that sort of list, I think it is representative in that you see sites where teens can express their identities through personalization and customization (avatars, profiles, buddy icons), teens' enduring love of quizzes, flirting, sharing photographs and creating their own music and art. Still, I'm curious to know how many teen Twitter users there are...and Pandora? Really? Popular with teens?

Here's their list:

1. Dollwizard.com

2. eSpinthebottle.com

3. Twitter.com

4. Whateverlife.com

5. Tickle.com

6. Photobucket.com

7. deviantART.com

8. MP3Masher.com

9. Pandora.com

10. Iconator.com
