Business Development/Marketing and Sales for Teen Book Publisher

Orange Avenue Publishing/Zest Books is looking for a marketing and sales associate to join our creative team.

Qualifications:
We are seeking a responsible, organized, and flexible candidate who is a creative thinker and can bring innovative marketing and sales ideas to the table. We are ideally looking for someone who has experience in marketing products to teens ages 13-18. Though we are book publishers, you need not come from that background. We are interested in all candidates who can bring experience from publishing or any number of related industries to boost our company exposure and pursue custom sales leads. This is a beginning to mid-level position with a lot of growth opportunities. We are looking for someone extremely enthusiastic about helping to build our brand and get the word out there about our product line. We are a small company and work very closely together on all aspects of the business, so candidates should be comfortable and interested in working in this environment.

Responsibilities include:
- creating and implementing a robust internet marketing and sales program
- being the sales and marketing liaison with our current distributor
- overseeing and coordinating PR efforts
- forging new relationships with additional retailers and web retailers
- identifying and creating custom sales opportunities for existing products, and carrying out sales initiatives with like-minded partners for co-branding and co-marketing purposes
- creating and overseeing teen blogging program
- managing 1 in-house intern, and 2-3 freelancers

Orange Avenue is an innovative San Francisco-based company who publishes fun, nonfiction books for teens under our imprint Zest Books, and non-teen titles under Orange Avenue.

Compensation:
Compensation will be based on experience. This is a base plus commission position.
