Teens shun protective gear ("Nearly half of adolescent inline skaters, skateboarders and snowboarders say nothing would convince them to wear personal protective equipment.") (Reuters)
- Abercrombie obscenity charges dropped (re: its sexy window images. Has this cop seen an American Apparel ad?) (MSNBC)
- Textonyms (another word for text messaging acronyms used by those crazy text messaging teens) (Reuters)
- Hannah Montana, Inc. (more from Forbes on how "Miley Ray" is big business. Plus Soulja Boy's mobile sweeps) (Direct Marketing News)
Portugal has its own 'quarterlife' (online series "Flatmates" proving popular. And in Canada, Teen Flare launched a new site.)
- In no duh news... (pop music is full of sex and drug references)
- Obama being called... (the hip hop candidate) (American Prospect)
- Minyanville (a financial literacy company is launching a virtual world for kids to teach, well, financial literacy, called Minyanland - thanks Jen!)
P.S. Very sad news. Jeanette Symons, the founder of Imbee.com, has passed away in a plane crash that also killed her son.
P.P.S. I am watching the entire season of "Freaks & Geeks" right now and am so loving it. It's like "Superbad" meets the "Wonder Years" and sooo totally 80s. You can't watch this show without having flashbacks to high school. Definitely worth renting or buying the box set.
