Ypulse Book Essentials: Lollygagging, Big Ass Crafters, Superhero "X"

Lollygag.jpgGreat non-fiction for the "word-nerd" in your life (L is for Lollygag, Clever Words for a Clever Tounge by Chroncle is splendid fun.) (Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast)

- Big Ass Crafts by TLC's Marc Montano (This looks like a lot of fun and crafting is so hot right now. I loooove the felt window treatment and the baby doll paperweight!)

- X Saves the World by Jeff Gordinier (Go Gen X'ers. Gush. What can say... A man after my own heart.)

- OMG. Fairy Tales at We Tell Stories (So cool. So fun. My daughter's name was Pea and My King's name was Gold...) (Penguin)

- Love this April Fool's Day prank (Beverly Cleary's timeless classic gets a makeover in order to compete with Jamie Lynn Spears fame.) (Collecting Children's Books)

- Arrrrgh. It be the Vampirates by Justin Somper (Combine the two hottest kid's fantasy figures...how can you lose?)

- Neat article (about this year's Newbery Winner, Laura Amy Schlitz.) (SLJ)

- "Stupid Reading" (Isn't so stupid, according to Jon Scieszka.) (Chicago Tribune)

- Some glitches to work out... (at AudibleKids) (Jen Robinson)

- Wake by Lisa McMann Trailer (A creepy tale about one girl's ability to get in your dreams. Publishers, Here's a question: Who makes your trailers? Do you have in-house producers or do you outsource? Just curious.) (YouTube)

- Wow. This is really big and scary (Indiana's new laws regarding books with "sexually explicit material." ) (Shelftalker)
