Today's Ypulse Books: It's All About 'Twilight'

With Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final installment of the "Twilight Series" being released tomorrow at midnight, today's Ypulse Books is, well, all about "Twilight." Check out Alli's very thought-provoking post about whether the series is actually encouraging behaviors that often lead to dating or domestic violence — and she's only half way through Eclipse, obviously she hasn't gotten to Bella and Jacob's first (forced) kiss. In today's Ypulse Book Essentials, there's, of course, more "Twilight" coverage as well as links to Mary-Kate and Ashley's new coffee table book and comic books featuring McCain and Obama.

    Hoo boy. Alli says she can't keep reading… and she's not even to "best" part.

    The Jacob thing not only is ripe for discussion of domestic violence, but also for a race issue, as that broaches the issue of the dominant stereotype of dark male violence against pale females. On behalf of brown guys everywhere, I totally resent that.

    I know Stephanie Meyer didn't sit up and think, "How can I write something negative for teen girls." But I'm not sure what she DID think…
